Meet Results #3, CAT 5 Meet Prep, Sizzler Sign Ups

Hi Piranhas,

I would like to congratulte all our swimmers on their performance this meet against Cutten Green Current. They far outnumbered us but our swimmers had tons of time drops and had fewer DQs. When you work hard in practice the results will speak for themselves. Attached to this email are the meet results as a .pdf, as well as a link to the official results of Dual Meet #3 HERE

I would like to remind everyone that there is no practice on Monday, May 25 as Cypress Fairbanks ISD shuts down operations in observance of Memorial Day.

The next newsletter comes out tomorrow afternoon.

SIZZLER SIGN UPS
If you are interested in attending the Sprint Sizzler Invitational May 31 and June 1, please check your official meet results from this meet and from previous meets. Results from past meets can be found by following links in previous newsletters. All previous newsletters can be found on the home page of the team website. A helpful resource might be the Sizzler Flier that I made, which includes links to time standards, results from Dual Meets 1 & 2, as well as the full meet announcement, and entry rules.

Instructions to register can be found in these resources. You need to contact me TODAY to ensure that I enter you into Sprint Sizzler. I will also be reaching out to individuals regarding Sizzler participation. Tomorrow I will be at the CAT5 Meet and my ability to enter swimmers will be limited. Entries are due between 12:00pm and 2:00pm. No exceptions. I will try my best to enter as many as I can but I need to be available to do so.

Cost is $9 per individual event. It is $15 per relay, but first I need to know if forming relays is possible with the swimmers that are coming. If you are open to swimming a relay, it is helpful to tell me as such when you email me.

You can email me at [email protected]. Please state in the subject line your swimmer's name, the races you want to swim, and your openness to relays.

CAT5 MEET PREP

For those of you who qualified and decided to attend the CAT5 Invitational, here is the relevant information to be ready for tomorrow.

  • LOCATION:
  • ARRIVAL TIME
    • Doors Open @7:00am. Best to get in early to claim better seating.
  • SEATING, SWIMMERS VS SPECTATORS:
    • SWIMMERS:
      • There are enough bleachers inside the venue to accommodate ALL swimmers on deck. No swimmers are to be upstairs in the spectator seating area. We must keep that area open for spectators. Swimmers are to find seats on the bleachers on the deck or outdoors.
    • SPECTATORS/PARENTS:
      • The section immediately across from the lobby competition pool is for come-and-go seating only. No stadium seats and absolutely no set up. Stadium seats are allowed on the remainder of the spectator seating sections.
      • Please respect the rules! CAT5 is trying to keep as many spectators as possible inside the venue this weekend due to potential rain. Please act in a manner that does not force meet staff to remove persons from the venue or for the fire marshal and/or police be involved in shutting down the meet.
  • WARM UPS
    • We are in the 1st Warm Ups session.
    • 7:40am to 8:10am.
    • Dive Well Pool,  Lane 8.
  • INCLEMENT WEATHER:
    • During inclement weather, the meet will continue as the CyFair natatorium pool is grounded. Spectators will be asked to relocate to vehicles outside the facility to allow swimmers, coaches, and meet personnel to remain indoors and to continue with the meet.
  • RESOURCES:
    • I have attached .pdfs of the, the Heat Sheet, the Meet Warm Up Assignments, and the Meet Timeline as well as provided links to where they are posted.

Great job today Piranhas!

See you on deck,

Coach Cameron
